How Do I Check
My E-mail Settings?
Note: The following applies only to our dial-up
subscribers.
Windows
95/98/NT
Eudora Light
-
Open
Eudora Light.
-
Click on
the 'Tools' menu and choose 'Options'.
-
On the
left will be a series of categories. Scroll down to 'Hosts' and click
once so that it's highlighted.
-
Check to
see that your email server settings are as follows:
POP Account: username@mail.sssnet.com
SMTP: mailout.sssnet.com
-
If your
entries are different, please replace them with those shown above.
-
Click OK.
-
Click on
the button in the lower right called TCP/IP Settings.
-
Note: If
you have your password saved you will be asked to re-enter it the next
time you check mail.
Netscape
Messenger 4.x
-
Open
Netscape Messenger.
-
Click on
the 'Edit' menu and choose 'Preferences.'
-
On the
left will be a list of categories. Double click on 'Mail and Newsgroups'
to display the sub-categories.
-
Click on
the 'Mail Servers' sub-category so that it's highlighted.
-
In the
middle of this section will be a space labeled 'Outgoing Mail Server.'
Make sure that the entries are as follows:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mailout.sssnet.com
Outgoing Mail Server Username: empty
-
If your
entries are different, please replace them with those shown above.
-
Click on
'Edit' at the top right.

Make
sure your mail server settings are as follows:
'Server Name': mail.sssnet.com
'Server Type': POP3
'Username': Your Super-Net username
-
If your
entries are different, please replace them with those shown above.
-
Click
OK.
-
Click OK
again.
-
Note: If
you have your password saved you will be asked to re-enter it the next
time you check mail.
Outlook Express
-
Open
Outlook Express.
-
Click on
the 'Tools' menu and choose 'Accounts.'
-
Click on
the 'Mail' tab, then highlight your Super-net account below.
-
Click the
Properties button.
-
Click on
the 'Servers' tab and check that the entries are as follows:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): mailout.sssnet.com
Incoming Mail (POP3): mail.sssnet.com
Account Name: your Super-Net username

If your
entries are different, please replace them with those shown above.

Click OK
-
Click
'Close'
-
Note: If

Macintosh
Eudora Light

Open
Eudora Light.
-
Click on
the 'Special' menu and choose 'Settings'.
-
On the
left will be a series of categories. Scroll down to 'Hosts' and click
once so that it's highlighted.

Check to
see that your email server settings are as follows:
POP Account: username@mail.sssnet.com
SMTP: mailout.sssnet.com

Outlook Express.

Click on
the 'Tools' menu and choose 'Accounts.'

Click on
the 'Mail' tab, then highlight your Super-Net account below.

Click on
'Edit'.

Click on
the 'Account Settings' tab and check that the entries are as follows:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): mailout.sssnet.com
Incoming Mail (POP3): mail.sssnet.com
Account Name: your Super-Net username

If your
entries are different, please replace them with those shown above.

Click
OK.
-
Click
'Close'.
-
Restart
Outlook Express.
